Surprise is a custom-built wooden ketch with stable, easy motion and elegant form.  Designed in 1967 by Spaulding Dunbar for a multi-generational family, she was built to be a comfortable and fun yacht for all ages.
Surprise's bright and spacious interior, large cockpit and copious deck space offer plenty of room to relax, socialize, and enjoy the peacefulness of being on the water.
Her shallow draft allows guests to access secluded beaches and harbors that most yachts this size are not able to.
Surprise has a wide swim ladder and hot fresh water shower on deck, providing guests with ease and comfort after taking a dip.
Below deck, the galley flows into a large, main cabin that hosts a settee and table that can convert into a double berth for up to 2 guests.  Most people are surprised by how much head room there is!  A forward cabin offers sleeping space for 2-3 guests, with a double and single berth.  The head (bathroom) is equipped with a stand-up, hot-water shower.  The crew quarters are in the aft cabin, which is completely separated by the engine room.
